URBANA is an interdisciplinary urban research and design practice based in Athens. Rooted in feminist values, we explore how cities can be reimagined through care, equity, and collective knowledge.
Our work sits at the intersection of spatial research, social innovation, and architectural thinking. We contribute to the transformation of urban environments by combining participatory methods with critical, technical, and design-based expertise. We collaborate with communities, international networks, municipalities, academic institutions to generate new tools, insights, and inclusive solutions for our cities and territories.

Applied Urban Research
We lead and support qualitative, spatial, and interdisciplinary research projects that explore how people experience and shape urban environments — with a focus on equity, care, and inclusion.
We provide:
- Spatial and social research design
- Intersectional and gender-sensitive analysis
- Lived-experience and care-centered methodologies
- Fieldwork (interviews, focus groups, etc.)
- Policy recommendations and knowledge outputs
Participatory Processes & Public Engagement
We design and facilitate inclusive processes that bring communities, stakeholders, and institutions into dialogue, enabling collective visioning and shared ownership of urban transformation.
We provide:
- Design and facilitation of co-creation processes
- Participatory methods and tools (mapping, walks, workshops, etc.)
- Stakeholder and community engagement strategies
- Public programming, exhibitions, and awareness actions
